My doctor has told me every time I have came in for an appointment that I am a difficult case to treat. So far, the medications I've been on have either made me feel worse, not worked at all or given me awful side effects. . .or any combination of those three. Today was no different. We needed to find a new drug for me to try. Usually when this happens, my doctor tells me about a bunch of different options. This time, he only told me one, and was quick to warn me that I had been on similar medication before and had a bad reaction.
So logically, I asked what our other options were. That's when, with no warning, he went into this whole speech about ECT, how it works, how it's preformed, it's side effects, all that kind of stuff. I can't even describe how scary it was. My mouth dropped so quickly I don't know how my jaw stayed on it's hinge. I was asking about what other medications there were to try, but his mind was obviously somewhere else.
Um, I definatly don't like the way I feel, and I know that the medications haven't been working. . .but the thought of willing electrocuting myself doesn't sound that great either.
fuckfuckfuck.
